ASSTM manages the CDCD (Diagnostic Center for Cognitive Disorders) which runs a memory clinic (UVA) dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with Alzheimer’s dementia. Moreover, it offers social and legal assistance, home nursing care and is linked to Alzheimer’s territorial units (nursing homes with SCU, day care centre). There is no SCU-B.

Patients are regularly followed in the memory clinic by four medical specialists on dementia (two geriatricians and two neurologists) and four psychologists and are fully managed with the help of a Service centre (Centro Servizi) with regard to the booking of exams, therapies and use of the various services. The Service centre periodically contacts patients and their caregivers both for a follow-up assessment and for comply with any request of assistance. The CDCD was started in accordance with the reform of the Regional Lombardy health system, integrated in a network between hospital and territory.
